01What they are and what we use#
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Local storage plays a similar role, but the browser does not send it to the server. We use both for three purposes only: keeping a signed in session secure, remembering your language and visual theme, and counting site visits in aggregate without cookies.
We use no advertising cookies, we do not share browsing data with ad networks, and we use no social media pixels on the site or in the application.
02On theunboundos.com#
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| lang | First party cookie | Remember whether you chose Spanish or English | 1 year |
| unbound-os-theme | Local storage | Remember whether you chose the light or dark theme | Until you clear it |
| Vercel Web Analytics | No cookies | Count visits in aggregate. A visit is identified by a value derived from the request that is discarded after 24 hours | Not applicable |
Fonts are served from the site itself, so your browser makes no request to Google Fonts when you visit. The price calculators query the public API of unboundoperators.app without sending cookies.
03In the application (unboundoperators.app)#
Every session cookie is first party, signed by the server, marked httpOnly (page code cannot read it) and limited to the application domain. None contains the sign in code sent by email.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| ub_a | Session of a team member in the admin panel | Up to 30 days |
| ub_c_<client> | Session of a client in their portal | Up to 7 days |
| ub_v_<proposal> | Session of a reader of a private proposal after verifying their email | Up to 7 days |
| ub_d_<document> | Session of a reader of a shared document that asks for email verification | Up to 7 days |
| ub_fv | Anonymous identifier to count a form visit once | Up to 1 year |
| ub_f_<link> | Let a respondent resume their answers | Up to 30 days |
| ub_wsx | Entry of Unbound support staff into a workspace, recorded in the audit log | Up to 12 hours |
| ub_lang, ub_admin_lang, ub_book_lang | Remember the chosen language | Up to 1 year |
| unbound-theme and other local storage values | Remember the theme, unsaved drafts and notices already seen | Until you clear them |
04Consent and how to turn them off#
Because we use only strictly necessary and preference cookies, and visit measurement uses no cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we ever add cookies that are not necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting them.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the application session cookies, you will not be able to sign in or read private proposals.
